This screening focuses on films made at the Cork Film Centre workshops that took place in East Cork in 2018/2019. Participants include St. Mary’s High School, Midleton CBS, St. Colman’s Community College, Carrigtwohill Community College, My Place Community Centre two-day workshop and Midleton College summer week workshop.
Animation
This year’s animation screening includes some very clever and witty examples of creative story-telling from groups such as Bloom Midleton, Tinga Tinga Childcare, Educate Together, tutored by visual artist Belinda Walsh.
Also featuring this year is a selection of clay and hand drawn animations from Paper Panther Productions’ workshops, that took place in Gaelscoil Choráin, Kyle National School, Bunscoil Mhuire, South Abbey National School, Park National School, Clonpriest National School and Pobalscoil na Tríonóide.
Documentary
‘A Village Full of Colour’ is a 40min feature documentary, by members of Inch Foróige, about the past, present and future of the Inch/Killeagh community.
The revival of the Killeagh May Sunday Festival in 2018, by Greywood Arts’ Creative Killeagh project, inspired the young people of the parish with a new curiosity. Why was this festival so loved and so missed? What did it mean to the community? And what other stories could they unearth about the place where they live?
Including 8mm footage of the 1996 May Sunday Festival, an original poem recital, written by some of the participants of Inch Foróige and music by Bobby Lee, this film is a must see for story lovers of all ages.
