This year’s MAF Cinema will take place in My Place Community Centre on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July 2021.
Audiences can expect a series of short films;
Beautiful dance films by by choreographer Tina Horan and filmmaker Maria Young;
Shorts from local filmmakers Geoffery Eastway and Martin Twomey;
Animations from Stop Motion Animation workshops by Belinda Walsh and Ilse de Ziah, plus a look back at previous MAF events when we were last all together, featuring an interview with John, Isaac and Grace Walsh about their plastic pollution project – ‘Finbarr the Fish!’
Curated by Kara Sweeney of Twenty4Films.
This year, we are also asking the public to send in some clips of their own for a future MAF production! In keeping with this year’s festival theme, ‘The Flow of the Wild’, all you need to do is go outside to a place you like to be and record a short video clip of yourself, standing in that place, telling us how it makes you feel in that moment. Please record your video in the landscape (horizontal) orientation, so we get a good view of your chosen place. This will be screened later in the year in a MAF production. (probably Culture Night). Send your video entries to info@midletonartsfestival.com. Aaand Action!
