The idea behind the night is to celebrate Christmas in a gorgeous space with a friend, have a mulled wine, hear uplifting live music from world class musicians and be soothed and moved and gently grooved!

Ilse says “I am thrilled to present this concert with Scarlet String Quartet. We have been playing so little recently, and it has been a wonderful process to rehearse and to choose our favourite music which we know you will love. We have some gorgeous musical surprises and are so excited to play together. Many of the arrangements are quite virtuosic and give a fresh take on old favourites. We can’t wait to share them with you.”

Rory Allen of Ballymaloe Grainstore says, “An early evening Sunday concert is a new idea for us and I am thrilled to welcome Ilse de Ziah and her quartet back to the Grainstore for this concert. They are superb string players with a spirited and beautiful sound and will certainly stir your spirits! There’s such a high level of talent in our local area and it’s great to have the support of the Cork County Council to present this concert.”

In the lead up to Christmas, give yourself the time to just sit and listen and to let beautiful and well played music inspire and move you.
