Living Art Community Performance

Join us this Saturday from 10am–2pm for an inspiring and interactive community performance experience as part of Midleton Arts Festival.

This immersive event invites the community to come together as a living work of art, weaving connections through creativity, nature, folklore, and ritual.

Throughout the morning, participants can explore a range of hands-on activities including working with natural tree pigments, creating message sticks with pledges to the Earth, learning weaving techniques, contributing to a collaborative willow web, and making a Wandering Web rescue jar. Visitors will also have the opportunity to connect their creations to the Bean Feasa — the wise woman and nature spirit at the heart of the experience.

At 1pm, join the Bean Feasa and the four elements for a gentle eco-ritual procession down Main Street, arriving at the lodge to experience a labyrinth of transformation. Attendees are encouraged to dress in nature-inspired outfits and become part of the living artwork.

The event also features storytelling rooted in folklore, biodiversity, traditional medicine, and planting practices, culminating in a communal planting ritual in the spiral garden.

Also appearing on the day:

  • Gary McSweeney, “making an exhibition of himself”
  • Performers from the Buskers Competition

Visitors are encouraged to explore the full Midleton Arts Festival programme online and book tickets for tonight’s play reading and other festival events.
