Haiku in Clay

Craftyhands will be running a number of workshops to create four ceramic panels which will be unveiled in four locations on the weekend of the MIDLETON ARTS FESTIVAL. Workshop hosts Susan Herlihy and Martin Forrest will take you on a journey to secret spaces in the community of Midleton. We will document the intersection of sight and sound in these locations and create Haiku, a traditional form of Japanease poetry. Back at the workshop , we will carve these words into clay, preserving them and our experience of a moment in the secret space.
The panels will be installed in these locations permanently.
We will facilitate nine people only per workshop. No experience in either
or ceramics is necessary. We will guide you completely.
These workshops are for teenagers and adults only due to tools being used.
A contribution of 10 euro per person to participate in this event would be welcome.
Contact Susan 087 90281 via text or email Susan at Crafty Hands for enquiries and bookings.
This is a unique experience, don’t miss out.
